EspoCRM
Lightweight, fast open-source CRM with a flexible entity manager
Overview
EspoCRM is a free, open-source CRM platform with a single-page frontend and a PHP REST API backend. It ships with sales automation, contact and account management, calendars, and a powerful no-code Entity Manager for customizing the data model. It is lightweight, well documented, and runs comfortably on modest hardware.
Where it falls short of Salesforce
- Marketing automation and email campaigns require paid extensions
- Built-in reporting and BI is more basic than HubSpot/Salesforce
- UI feels more utilitarian and dated
- Advanced features (BPM, advanced pack) are behind a commercial license
We list the gaps honestly so you can decide if the trade-off is worth owning your data.
