Aptabase
Privacy-first, open-source analytics for mobile and desktop apps
Overview
Aptabase is a lightweight analytics platform built for mobile (iOS, Android, Flutter, React Native) and desktop (Electron, Tauri, .NET) applications. It offers an SDK for event tracking, a clean real-time dashboard, and stores all data on your own infrastructure with no cookies or PII collected by default. The self-hosted version is deployed via Docker and backed by ClickHouse for fast aggregations.
Where it falls short of Mixpanel
- No funnel, retention, or cohort analysis out of the box
- Limited to event-based tracking; no session replay or heatmaps
- Smaller SDK ecosystem compared to Firebase Analytics or Mixpanel
- Self-hosted version may lag behind the cloud product in features
We list the gaps honestly so you can decide if the trade-off is worth owning your data.
