Overview
Restyaboard is an open-source, self-hosted kanban board modeled after Trello, built on the Restya platform. It offers boards, lists, cards, drag-and-drop, offline sync, REST API, and an extension/plugin system. It targets teams wanting a Trello-style experience with full data ownership.
Where it falls short of Trello
- Many add-ons and integrations require purchasing commercial extensions
- Development pace is slower than newer tools like Plane or PLANKA
- UI is somewhat dated
- Manual installation (PostgreSQL, PHP, nginx) can be fiddly
We list the gaps honestly so you can decide if the trade-off is worth owning your data.
