Overview
PLANKA is a real-time kanban board for teams with a clean, modern interface heavily inspired by Trello. It supports boards, lists, cards, labels, due dates, attachments, and real-time collaboration via WebSockets. It is lightweight and easy to deploy with Docker.
Where it falls short of Trello
- Newer versions moved to a fair-use license with Pro/Enterprise tiers for some features
- Fewer features than Trello (no power-ups, limited automation)
- No official mobile apps
- No managed cloud offering from the core project
We list the gaps honestly so you can decide if the trade-off is worth owning your data.
