Overview
Radarr is a fork of Sonarr adapted for movies. It monitors release groups, grabs wanted movies from Usenet and torrent indexers, and renames/organizes them into your library. Quality profiles allow automatic upgrades to better encodes when available. Radarr integrates with download clients such as qBittorrent, Deluge, SABnzbd, and NZBGet, and fits naturally into the *arr stack alongside Sonarr, Prowlarr, and Bazarr.
Where it falls short of Netflix
- Requires a separate download client and indexer; not a standalone media solution.
- No built-in playback; must be paired with Jellyfin, Plex, or Kodi.
- Content availability depends entirely on third-party indexers and trackers.
- Initial setup and fine-tuning of quality profiles requires significant manual effort.
