Karakeep
AI-powered bookmark manager for collecting and organizing everything
Overview
Karakeep is a bookmark-everything application designed for data hoarders who want to save links, notes, images, and full-page snapshots in one place. It incorporates AI features such as automatic tagging and content summarization to help organize large collections. The application is distributed primarily as a Docker image and supports web, iOS, and Android clients. A live demo instance is available for evaluation.
Where it falls short of Raindrop.io
- AI tagging quality depends on the local/hosted LLM configured — requires additional setup
- No collaborative or team sharing features comparable to Raindrop's public collections
- Mobile apps are in active development and may lag behind web feature parity
- AGPL license may restrict proprietary integrations
We list the gaps honestly so you can decide if the trade-off is worth owning your data.
