Overview
Beehive is a lightweight self-hosted event automation system that connects services using 'bees' — small agents that react to events and trigger actions on other services. It supports RSS, email, Twitter, Slack, and more, enabling IFTTT-style automations without a cloud dependency. Written in Go, it runs as a single binary with a web-based configuration UI.
Where it falls short of Zapier
- Much smaller connector library than Zapier or Make; many popular SaaS integrations are missing
- Web UI is basic with minimal workflow visualization and no scheduling UI
- Project maintenance has slowed; some connector implementations may be stale
We list the gaps honestly so you can decide if the trade-off is worth owning your data.
