Apache ECharts

Powerful, declarative charting library for embedding interactive visualizations

60k TypeScript Apache-2.0 1 month ago

Overview

Apache ECharts is a free, powerful charting and visualization library backed by the Apache Software Foundation. It supports dozens of chart types including scatter, heatmap, graph, tree, and geo maps, all driven by a declarative JSON config. Teams embed it directly in web apps or wire it to custom data backends without needing a full BI platform.

Where it falls short of Tableau

  • Library only; no built-in query layer or data connector UI
  • Requires custom development to build a full dashboard application
  • No user management or saved-dashboard persistence out of the box

We list the gaps honestly so you can decide if the trade-off is worth owning your data.
