Overview
Zipline is a lightweight file sharing and upload server commonly used as a ShareX custom uploader backend. It provides a React-based web dashboard for managing uploads, supports image, video, and arbitrary file sharing with short URLs, and offers per-user invite codes and upload quotas. Deployment uses Docker with a PostgreSQL or SQLite database backend.
Where it falls short of Dropbox
- No desktop or mobile sync clients; upload is via browser or ShareX only
- No folder hierarchy or file organisation beyond a flat uploads list
- Limited collaboration features; designed as a personal uploader tool
- No versioning or deleted-file recovery
