Overview
undb is a lightweight, privacy-focused no-code database and BaaS that runs on SQLite and can be deployed as a single binary or Docker container. It offers tables, multiple views, forms, a REST API, and webhooks with minimal infrastructure requirements, making it well suited for personal projects and small teams. It is AGPL-licensed and fully self-hostable.
Where it falls short of Airtable
- Far fewer features than Airtable; no automations marketplace or advanced views.
- Single-author project with a smaller community and less battle-testing.
- Real-time collaboration and permissions are basic.
- SQLite backend limits very large or high-concurrency workloads.
We list the gaps honestly so you can decide if the trade-off is worth owning your data.
