SeaTable
Spreadsheet-database for teams with unlimited rows and no API call limits
Overview
SeaTable is an Airtable-like collaborative spreadsheet-database from the makers of Seafile. It offers grid, kanban, gallery, calendar, and form views, automations, plugins, and a rich API, with self-hosting that imposes no API-call limits. The codebase is a mix of Apache-2.0, AGPL, and proprietary components, and a free self-hosted Developer Edition is available.
Where it falls short of Airtable
- Core dtable-server component is proprietary, so it is not fully open-source.
- The public GitHub repo is mostly docs/installer rather than full source code.
- Smaller community and ecosystem than Airtable or NocoDB.
- Advanced features and higher row limits require paid Enterprise licensing.
We list the gaps honestly so you can decide if the trade-off is worth owning your data.
