Cloudreve
Multi-storage cloud file management system with sharing, sync, and a web UI
Overview
Cloudreve is a self-hosted cloud storage platform that supports multiple backend storage providers including local disk, Qiniu, Aliyun OSS, Tencent COS, OneDrive, S3-compatible stores, and remote instances. It offers a polished web file manager with drag-and-drop uploads, folder sharing with password protection, WebDAV access, and a built-in user management system. Cloudreve is distributed as a single binary or Docker image, making initial deployment simple.
Where it falls short of Dropbox
- No native desktop sync client; relies on WebDAV or manual uploads
- Collaborative document editing (Google Docs equivalent) is absent
- Mobile apps are community-maintained and not officially supported
- Advanced team/enterprise features like audit logs and granular permissions are limited
We list the gaps honestly so you can decide if the trade-off is worth owning your data.
